Wolfwood Castle
Here's a map of Little Hope proper. If you'd like to see a map of the area, click here. If you'd like to see a map of the inside of the Saloon, click here.
The little squares with black are outhouses. The black bars are hitching posts.
1. Boarding House/ Hotel/ Stagecoach Rental and Housing. - Where the elite like to stay, much higher class than the inn above the saloon. Stagecoach is an important means of travel as well, and many use it to reach the town in order to access the train station, which is the only one for quite a few miles.
2. Little Hope Daily News - Home to the only resident photographer, it's where the news is printed everyday. The editor and owner of the press might reside above this building as well.
3. Doctor's office and pharmacy - The doctor is always in, because he lives above his office. He's the only one for miles (a skilled surgeon at that), and he'll make the occasional house call, though you can usually find him in his office or at leisure in the town. In any case, the office will usually always be staffed.
4. Gunsmith - self-explanatory. He sells guns and repairs them, for a price. He also sells ammunition, supply, cleaning apparatus; you name it, plus other weaponry such as hunting knives and switchblades. If he doesn't have it, he can probably tell you where to get it.
5. Blacksmith - does everything from fixing door hinges to shoeing horses to forging heavy equipment for the miners and train. He resides above his shop, as does the gunsmith.
6. Blacksmith's barn - Where he does his work and keeps his equipment.
7. Shooting Range - For customers of the gunsmith to test and try their new or repaired equipment, or just to sport. The gunsmith will also rent the range for a price and judge competitions.
8. Barber shop - Cut and shave anyone? Just what a cowboy needs to look his best. You can also buy a hot bath here, as well as get a dental checkup…that's right, our barber is a dentist too. Too bad most cowboys are too afraid to even try…Well; they can buy peppermints from the general store across the street.
9. Courthouse/Town hall - Judge and jury and mayor of the town. This is where the business dealings take place, such as purchasing land, domestic disputes, and the general politics of the town.
10. The gallows - might just be the last stop on an unlucky outlaws ride into the sunset. Public hangings are still a frequent form of public entertainment…better be careful, fellas.
11. Sheriff's office/Jail - Cell and Office in one, as is the tradition. Unfortunately, our jail is small…only 3 cells. Better stay out of trouble or you might end up sleeping with the sheriff ^.~
12. Little Hope Baptist Church and St. Anne's cemetery - About have the town attends church here, the other at the Episcopal Church, next to the schoolhouse on the larger map. The churches hold many bizarre throughout the year and even a baseball game.
13. Little Hope Junction - Train station, ticket seller and platform. Times are posted outside for both passenger and freight loading and drop off.
14. Little Hope Post Office and telegraph station - Here you can send and receive mail and packages, as well as buy a newspaper, as well as apply for certain licenses and registrations.
15. Little Hope Municipal Bank - Credit, loans, accounts, everything a bank should be. There is also a customs agent and money exchanger for those with gold or foreign money. All concrete money and gold as well as bonds are stored in a safe along the back. There are roughly 25,000 dollars in gold presently stored there.
16. Little Hope General Store - Selling everything from candy to spurs, hardware to socks. Here's a general product list:
Candy and non perishable food stock
Market foods (fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, eggs, milk. You get the idea.)
Liquors, coffees and teas
Domestic appliances ranging from coffee makers to razors, and everything in between
Hardware such as basic tools, screws, nails, etc.
Tack and livestock equipment such as rope and lumber.
Small section for general clothing, shoes, hats, etc.
Baking and cooking supplies
OTC medications like antacids, some also found at the pharmacy
Some basic ammunitions and firearms, hunting supplies
Textiles such as quilts, blankets and sewing supplies
Catalogs like Sears-Roebuck so customers can order what they need through the store
Pictures, postcards and stationary/school supplies, books
Personal grooming needs
Seasonal items
17. Tombstone Saloon - The best joint in town! Also the most lucrative. Here a cowboy can stop for a drink, a game of cards, some pool maybe, or just sit back and watch Kitty and her girls entertain all night long. There are rooms above the saloon for the weary traveler, at a much friendlier rate the hotel up the street. Also, much more discreet, if you get my jist *wink wink* So come on in and rustle up a drink or two, maybe even a bite to eat as food's also served 5 nights a week by out NPC chef, Cookie. The menu includes:
Chicken, Vegetable, Potato, and Onion soups
Flamin' chili
T-bone and Sirloin steaks served with potatoes…only one size…cowboy size.
Turkey Gumbo
Sandwiches made to order
Eggs and flapjacks for early drinkers
Black Bean Stew
Kitty's best pot roast, slow simmered all day
A variety of fresh baked pies…just ask ^_^
18. Women's Parlor and Boutique - Specializing in women's fashion and hair cutting, shoes, hat, gloves, and handbags. There are also accessories such as jewelry and ribbons, as well as some clothing for children and infants. The owner is a talented seamstress and also a tailor who might order her materials from as far away as New York. Her clothes range from fashionable gowns, to simpler, well-priced everyday dresses. There is a service for hair cutting and styling, and even some makeup, as well as lotions and bath niceties. A true woman's store.
19. Tack and Rider Supply - Now here's the men's' shop, selling boots, spurs, chaps and anything a cowboy might need. The owner is a skilled leather-worker and tailor, and he even manages to sell quite a few decent looking suits for the cowboys who want to dust off that western charm. He sells tack and bridle for horses as well, gloves, hats, and other horseman's needs.
